Based in the Crimean city of Yalta, Dmytrij Wulffius is equally prolific as a musician and as a visual artist. His work is often informed by Yalta’s unique surroundings and atmosphere, where wilderness meets semi-abandoned modernist super-structures. At the same time, he’s also a part of the wider movement of new urban romanticism — the universe where low-res moons hang above high rises resembling medieval castles, and the DIY ethos is a must. Wulffius has been involved with Moscow-based label John’s Kingdom and Kiev’s underground music scene: his sound is raw yet genre-bendingly contemporary.
